This is an old revision of the document!

====== Technical Info ======

This an early alpha, do not expect perfect performances and stability overall.

===== Minimum Requirements =====

  • CPU Intel or AMD Dual Core 2Ghz
  • Graphic card with DirectX 9.0c and Pixel shaders 2.0 support
  • 2Gb RAM
  • 100Mb Hard Drive space
  • Windows XP SP3 or later (Windows Vista or later is highly recommended)
  • Direct 9.0c or later installed

In theory, the game may run on CPU with only one core, but stability and performances may get hit dramatically.

===== Troubleshooting =====

  1. If you have a previous version of the game installed, delete the folder it was installed in before installing the new version. Otherwise, the game may behave incorrectly, or not run at all.
  2. If you are experiencing extremely poor graphical performances (low FPS), it is possible that the game didn't detect DirectX properly, it usually happens if you disabled the Windows' Themes service (commonly known as Aero). The problem is being investigated, meanwhile please keep this service enabled while playing the game.
  3. The latest version of DirectX need to be properly installed on your computer. Download it here.
  4. Compatibility with Windows XP isn't guaranteed at all. In all cases, be sure to have the latest service pack installed (no matter the OS).
  5. Try to run the game in windowed mode (not full screen) if it doesn't launch properly.
  6. Be sure to have the latest drivers for your graphic card installed. Here's the link for ATI and NVidia cards
  7. The ffdshow filter, installed with some multimedia and codec packs may cause issues with our sound library on some computers. You can prevent ffdshow from running with our application by opening its settings, clicking DirectShow Controls / don't use ffdshow in / edit… and add Unending Galaxy's executable to the list. Refer to FFDShow website and documentation for help if need be.
